      Whereas as you read more books, faster and effectively, you’ll be able to read more. It is a lot easier to skim the book. You can use the table of contents and index to quickly switch the section. But you can’t skim the video for a quick overview and most of the videos doesn’t support paging.   Reading faster is possible, even if speed reading isn't always the best way to go about it.     1) Speed reading claims of , , words per minute are a bunch of bunk.(That’s not reading, it’s skimming.)More than four to five-hundred words per minute is skimming. And more skimming = less comprehension. Plus, if you read to fast, you don’t have time to comprehend, consolidate and assimilate the information. Effective speed reading is a balance between pace and comprehension. Studies have found that the faster you read, the less information you take in, particularly when it comes to remembering detail. So, speed reading is clearly not the answer if you're reading a complex legal or technical document, even if you are pushed for time.

      But reading takes time, and there aren’t many days when I can read as much as I’d like. Here are some habits that I've adopted to help me get more good reading done. 1. Quit reading.
